Mark A. Canty, Q.C.

For over 20 years, Mark Canty has helped insurance companies successfully resolve hundreds of difficult personal injury and insurance cases. Before starting his practice in 1993, Mark graduated from Saint Mary’s University collecting awards for academic excellence in English Literature which he continued under fellowship at Dalhousie University. He then worked as the Assistant Dean of Students at Mount Allison University before commencing his law degree at the University of New Brunswick.

In addition to his extensive experience with general insurance and personal injury cases, Mark also actively practices municipal, administrative, environmental and professional liability law. He also regularly acts as a mediator in insurance matters.

Mark is a member of Canadian Defence Lawyers, the Defense Research Institute, and the Canadian Bar Association and is a member and past president of the New Brunswick Law Society.

He regularly lectures on civil litigation law and insurance law for the New Brunswick Bar Admission Program, has been an invited lecturer and presented papers to the Canadian Bar Association and is active in a wide range of other continuing legal education endeavours.

Mark resides in Quispamsis.
